Job summary

Bruyère Health in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join a dynamic interdisciplinary team. The role involves delivering patient- and resident-centered nursing care in accordance with standards, while collaborating with colleagues across disciplines and communicating clearly with patients and families.

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will work at the Market site with a rotation (day/night) schedule.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent.
  • Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Level C certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care to patients and residents according to scope of practice and Bruyère Health policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, residents and their families, and with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide care on a rotating shift basis at the Market site and adapt to operational needs.

POSITION TYPE : Temporary, Full-time, Rotation (Day/Night), 75 hours / pay period, 1.0 FTE (12 hour shifts) - Replacement position
SALARY SCALE : $37.323 to $38.663 per hour
CLOSING DATE : 2026 - 10 - 05*

What would my role be?

Reporting to Clinical Manager, as a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will deliver safe, effective, patient and resident-centered, ethical and evidence-based nursing care to patients according to scope of practice and in accordance with Bruyère Health policies, procedures and standards and with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards. You will communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with patients/residents and their loved ones, colleagues and other health discipline members.

For information purposes, this position is currently scheduled at the Market site. Work location assignments are subject to change based on operational needs.

Required :
  • Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent
  • Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
Preferred :
  • Experience in medicine/surgery, complex care, nephrology and/or rehabilitation care
  • Membership in Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO)
  • Fluent in French and English
