Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to deliver professional nursing care to residents and to supervise Personal Support Workers on the unit. The role includes liaising with physicians, following established policies, and contributing to care planning across the team.

From the outset, you will work with the nursing staff to ensure regulatory compliance, maintain high standards of patient safety, and support a compassionate, home-like environment for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing experience.
• Knowledge of Canadian healthcare acts and regulations.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to implement AgeCare policies and procedures on the unit.
• Contribute to revision of procedures within the residence and the unit.
• Liaise with physicians and other health care team members including external partners.
• Notify physician of significant changes in resident status in RN's absence.
• Work with the health care team to ensure residents' care needs are met.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participate in shift report to inform team of changes in resident status.
