Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for the Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow, Ontario. This temporary part-time role supports medication administration, treatments, and assessments, contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings to uphold nursing standards.

The RPN will ensure care is provided according to Nursing College of Ontario standards, Long-Term Care standards, and Company policies, with a focus on resident well-being and collaborative practice.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the RNAO/ONRNA is required.
• First Aid and BLS certification are required.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and infection control is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure nursing care aligns with physicians’ orders and policies, including vital signs and observation.
• Assess residents, develop and review care plans; monitor health and refer to doctors as needed.
• Coordinate care including restorative and palliative services per policies and regulations.
• Plan, supervise and evaluate nursing staff; orient and train new personnel and participate in education.
