Job summary

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the Women’s and Children Program, in post-partum care for mothers and newborns. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, you will deliver high-quality nursing care within a collaborative team in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include RPN diploma, current Ontario registration, postpartum care experience, NRP and breastfeeding course or plan to complete, and BCLS.

Qualifications

• RPN diploma and current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN.
• Experience or recent training in postpartum care (within last 3 years).
• NRP certification and breastfeeding course or commitment to complete within 3 months.

As a Registered Practical Nurse in the Women’s and Children Program, you will be part of a health care team that promotes the birthing experience as a normal, health process and the family as an integral part of that experience. At this time, the RPN will provide comprehensive care to Post-partum women and their newborns. In this role, you will engage in ethical conduct and provide high quality nursing care to patients and their families, based on the philosophy and conceptual framework of Nursing Practice at Scarborough Health Network. Please note that this position is required to work shift work, weekends and holidays.
