Scarborough Health Network (SHN) seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for the Surgical Specialty Clinic. The RPN will assess and plan patient care, perform ongoing evaluation, and support families in a fast-paced clinic setting.

The role focuses on surgical and ostomy patients with emphasis on wound care, documentation, and adherence to Ontario standards. The successful candidate must hold an RPN Diploma, a perioperative certificate, and current CPR/BLS.

Competenze

• Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Perioperative certificate or equivalent.
• Wound care certification from a recognized institution.
• CPR at Basic Life Support level.

Learn more at shn.caJob Description:Position Overview:Reporting to Manager of Surgical Clinic, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning implementation and evaluating nursing care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centred care environment. The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will provide a high quality nursing care to patients with chronic wound, surgical and ostomy needs utilizing the nursing process, following established standards of practice both within the hospital and the profession after initial assessment by physician. The RPN will ensure they provide a plan of care to both patients and family and that the care is supported by educational information using appropriate techniques followed by documentation as per the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards. The RPN is responsible to maintain Aseptic Technique in a minor procedure environment and care & maintenance of specialized instruments.
