Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking Registered Practical Nurses to deliver planned, patient‑centred care within a supportive retirement community. You will implement and evaluate care plans, collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team, and provide compassionate guidance to residents, families and staff.

This temporary Line position runs 5 shifts of 7.5 hours every two weeks, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, with an expected end date of December 31, 2026.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• RPNs are responsible for planned, patient‑oriented, goal‑directed nursing care per provincial standards.
• RPNs are an integral part of a multi‑disciplinary team building trusted relationships with residents and families.
• RPNs implement and evaluate care plans and communicate changes as required.
• RPNs teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers with coaching and mentorship.

RPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care.
