Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Ontario is seeking Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to deliver planned, patient-centered nursing care within a multidisciplinary team, aligned with provincial standards.

You will assess and update care plans, document care, delegate to unregulated providers, and mentor staff. The role emphasizes compassionate service to residents and family engagement, with onboarding, training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse license/registration in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge.
• Experience with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and understanding of emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Teamwork and customer service with ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and Microsoft Office applications.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid.
• Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.

How YOU make a difference

RPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care. RPNs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication. RPNs implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plans and make changes as required. RPNs complete and ensure resident’s clinical care assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date and communicate changes as required. RPNs teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching & mentorship.

What YOU bring

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset

• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
