Job summary

Halton Healthcare in Milton, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a temporary full-time role in the 2 North Regional Unit. You will apply the nursing process to patient care, coordinate transitions, educate patients and families, and support a safe, compassionate environment.

You will administer medications, document observations and changes, and collaborate with the health team to improve patient outcomes. Strong communication and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
  • Current BCLS certification at time of hire.
  • Recent practical nursing experience in acute medicine is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Caring attitude with patients, families and co-workers.
  • Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and intense physical effort.
  • Strong assessment skills with ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Halton Healthcareis operating35 Regional Beds at Milton District Hospital in an Alternative Level of Care Unit.

A Registered PracticalNurse assigned to2 North Regional Unitis primarily responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of patients in various clinical areas. You’ll be responsible and accountable for all elements of the practicalnursing process when providing direct patient care. You’ll also be assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care based on specific components. You’ll assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. You’ll administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. You’ll also be documenting observations, assessments and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes as well as providing a full range of practical nursing care to patients.

We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Status:Temporary Full-time (Approx.6 months)

Hours:Monday - Sunday Various rotating 12 hour shifts; 0730-1930, 1930-0730 (Hours may be subject to change based on operational requirements).

Salary:$36.08 to $39.02 per hour
