Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Red Deer, AB is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at East Hill Centre. You will be responsible for transcribing prescriptions, dispensing medications, and ensuring accuracy while supporting both dispensary and front-store operations.

The role requires a Regulated Pharmacy Technician licence in good standing with the provincial College and experience with dispensing procedures. Join a team focused on patient-centred care and community health.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Regulated Pharmacy Technician licence in good standing with the provincial College.
• Experience with pharmacy dispensing and related software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from practitioners.
• Transfer prescriptions to/from other pharmacies.
• Ensure prescription completeness and authenticity.
• Perform final check and dispensing of prescriptions.
• Support dispensary and front-store operations.
• Provide excellent, Always Customer First service.
• Adhere to merchandising programs and company procedures.
• Supervise Pharmacy Assistants and Clerks as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Pharmacy Manager.

We are hiring for a Registered Pharmacy Technician at our East Hill Centre location in Red Deer, AB.

You will be responsible for:

• Receiving and transcribing verbal prescriptions from practitioners.
• Transferring prescriptions to and receiving prescriptions from other pharmacies.
• Ensuring that a prescription is complete and authentic.
• Ensuring the accuracy and performing the final check of a prepared prescription.
• Performing all the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions.
• Performing all necessary duties to support and maintain dispensary and front store (OTC) operations.
• Providing excellent, Always Customer First service.
• Adhering to merchandising programs, operational procedures, and company policies.
• Observing and directing Pharmacy Assistants and Clerks in the dispensary activities.
• Performing other duties and assignments as directed by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist.

You have:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A Regulated Pharmacy Technician licence and are in good standing with the respective College of Pharmacists.
• Pharmacy dispensary experience or Kroll computer experience would be an asset.
