Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Nanaimo, BC, is hiring a Regulated Pharmacy Technician at our Country Club location. You will handle verbal prescriptions, transfer prescriptions between pharmacies, and perform all technical dispensing duties while supporting front-store operations.

The role includes a $5.00 per hour premium, benefits and pension eligibility, and opportunities for education reimbursement. A licensing requirement and good standing with the College of Pharmacists are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Regulated Pharmacy Technician license in good standing with the respective College of Pharmacists.
• Pharmacy dispensary experience or Kroll computer experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from practitioners.
• Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies.
• Ensure that a prescription is complete and authentic.
• Perform final check of a prepared prescription.
• Dispense prescriptions and perform dispensary duties.
• Support front store (OTC) operations.
• Provide excellent customer-first service.
• Adhere to merchandising programs, procedures and policies.
• Direct Pharmacy Assistants and Clerks in dispensary activities.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist.

This role is eligible for an additional $5.00 per hour premium for hours worked.

You will be responsible for:

• Receiving and transcribing verbal prescriptions from practitioners.
• Transferring prescriptions to and receiving prescriptions from other pharmacies.
• Ensuring that a prescription is complete and authentic.
• Ensuring the accuracy and performing the final check of a prepared prescription.
• Performing all the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions.
• Performing all necessary duties to support and maintain dispensary and front store (OTC) operations.
• Providing excellent, Always Customer First service.
• Adhering to merchandising programs, operational procedures, and company policies.
• Observing and directing Pharmacy Assistants and Clerks in the dispensary activities.
• Performing other duties and assignments as directed by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist.

You have:

Compensation Details: $24.50 - $31.50. The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
