Job summary

CareRx in Calgary, AB is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team and support safe drug distribution across long-term care facilities.

You will work with a collaborative team, perform final checks on compounding and packaging, and gain expertise in geriatrics, palliative care, and mental health medications while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) in good standing.
  • Experience in long-term care, retail, or community pharmacy is preferred.
  • Strong computer and data-entry abilities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Staff Pharmacist with preparation, packaging and distribution of prescriptions.
  • Ensure prescriptions are complete and authentic; gather necessary information.
  • Verify data entry accuracy in eMAR and Kroll systems; ensure final checks for accuracy before release.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality; uphold ethical standards.

Role Accountabilities:
  • Assist the Staff Pharmacist with the preparation,packagingand distribution of patient prescriptions
  • Ensure that all prescriptions are complete and authentic
  • Gatherandensure completenessofall necessary information,
  • Confirm data entry accuracy ineMARand Kroll
  • Confirm accuracy of pharmaceutical productsand ensure final checksare completedfor accuracy prior to theirrelease
  • Ensuringaccuratedocumentation,maintainingconfidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment
  • Other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring to The Team:
  • Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP)
  • Knowledge of KROLL Pharmacy systems in a long-term care setting is a strong asset
  • Retail/Community/ Long Term Care Pharmacyexperiencestrongly preferred
  • Demonstrated computer or work processing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
