Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Fergus, ON is seeking a Part-Time Pediatric Registered Nurse to support children in school and home environments, delivering compassionate care within a safe, nurturing setting. You will provide G/J tube care, seizure care, medication administration, and daily living support while documenting care and coordinating with families.

Requirements include RN in Ontario in good standing, BLS, VSC within 6 months, professional liability insurance, and a commitment

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Ontario (CNO in good standing).
• Experience with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document medications as prescribed, per standards.
• Administer and monitor G/J-tube care and seizure care as needed.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe, report changes in condition to family and WeeCare.
• Maintain safe, clean environment and proper documentation.
• Support cognitive, social, and emotional development of the child.

Position

Part-Time Pediatric Registered Nurse in Fergus, ON.

Schedule

• Thursday & Friday: 06:45–20:30
• Saturday: 07:00-15:00, as needed

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Provide seizure care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
