Job summary

North Wellington Health Care in Palmerston, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary part-time role at Palmerston & District Hospital. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care in line with nursing practice standards and hospital policies.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, stepping into leadership as required and contributing to ongoing education to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Ontario RN Certificate of Competence.
• BCLS required.
• ACLS or commitment to obtain within 6 months.
• Maternal Child Course or relevant clinical experience for exemption.
• NRP, or commitment to obtain within 6 months.
• Cardiac monitoring skills (ECG application & interpretation) or commitment to obtain within 3 months.
• IV start and phlebotomy competency within 3 months.
• Defibrillation competency or commitment to obtain within 6 months.
• TNCC/ENPC or PALS recommended.

Responsibilities

REGISTERED NURSE

(TEMPORARY PART TIME)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

One (1) temporary part time Registered Nurse opportunity is available at the Palmerston & District Hospital site of North Wellington Health Care.

This position will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care as established by the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and according to policies and procedures as set out by NWHC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Ontario RN Certificate of Competence


• BScN is an asset


• Membership in RNAO and CNA is an asset


• Current BCLS
  


• ACLS or commitment to obtain within 6 months


• Maternal Child Course or relevant clinical experience for exemption


• NRP,or commitment to obtain within 6 months


• Cardiac monitoring skills (ECG application & interpretation, cardiac arrhythmia interpretation) or commitment to obtain within 3 months


• Competent to start IV or commitment to obtain within 3 months


• Competent in phlebotomy or commitment to obtain within 3 months


• Certified for defibrillation or competent in 6 months


• TNCC recommended


• ENPC/PALS recommended


• Must be prepared to work in all areas of the Hospital


• Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written


• Proven organizational and critical-thinking skills


• Ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member


• Ability to assume a leadership/charge role


• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities


• Satisfactory performance and attendance required


• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date


• Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check


• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

HOURS OF WORK:

• As per Department Schedule


• Must be available to work all shifts

SALARY: $40.24 - $57.68 per hour
