Job summary

Regina Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network, is hiring a Registered Nurse PACU part time in Regina, SK. The role offers hourly wage between $38 and $58 CAD and requires active RN registration in Saskatchewan with BCLS-HCP, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

The RN will collaborate with the care team, follow infection control policies, document care, and maintain patient confidentiality while supporting new staff and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active/eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Adaptable to a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a physically demanding job.
• Must be able to work staggered shifts, possibly extended shifts.
• Excellent assessment, organization, communication, and team interaction skills.
• Current immunization for hepatitis B, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria, COVID-19.
• Current tuberculin skin testing (within 6 months before date of hire).
• Certification and recent experience with IV initiation. PREFERRED
• Experience with care of an intubated patient. PREFERRED
• Experience with ECG analysis. PREFERRED
• Experience in an acute care post-anesthetic care unit environment, with PACU experiencePREFERRED
• Advanced knowledge of regional anesthesia, neuroaxial anesthesia, multimodal analgesia and chronic pain. PREFERRED

Physical Requirements

• The work environment is physically demanding and may require different levels of physical exertion, such as lifting and transferring patients.
• At times, RNs may work in challenging and stressful circumstances, such as in an emergency situation.
• During the course of their work RNs may be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, chemicals and other safety hazards.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides a wide variety of nursing services to patients and families. The RN uses standard nursing processes including: thorough critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teaches, counsels and advocates on behalf of patients and their families. The RN possesses the related education and clinical experience to assess, treat and educate patients undergoing a wide variety of surgical procedures.
