Job summary

Clearpoint Health Network invites applications for a casual surgical centre nurse with the potential to work part-time or full-time in Burnaby, BC. Wages are listed at $60/hr in a state-of-the-art, patient-focused environment.

Required: accredited nursing education and 2–3 years' acute care OR experience, BC registration eligibility, and perioperative CNA certification or equivalent. Must collaborate with an interdisciplinary team while maintaining safety and quality care.

• Accredited nursing program completed or in-progress.
• Active/eligible for BC nursing registration and practice permit.

Benefits Working At Still Creek Surgical Centre

• Wages $60/hr.

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program combined with 2 – 3 years’ recent experience in an acute care Operating Room.
• Active/eligible for registration and practice permit with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
• Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) perioperative nursing certification/Completion of a post-secondary educational institution perioperative nursing program/Equivalent in education and experience.
• Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary team of care providers, with emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of patient health.

Physical Requirements

• The work environment is physically demanding and may require different levels of physical exertion, such as lifting and transferring patients.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull more than 25 pounds.
• There is a lot of above shoulder requirements for prepping and positioning patients.
• At times, RNs may work in challenging and stressful circumstances, such as in an emergency situation.
• During the course of their work RNs may be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, chemicals and other safety hazards.
