Job summary

Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver high‑quality patient care within the Medicine Team, applying assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation per the nursing process.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, participate in discharge planning, patient and family education, and contribute to a safe, patient‑centred environment. Ongoing professional development and adherence to hospital policies are required.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing required
• Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
• Current Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Interpretation certificate required
• Current CPR certificate required
• Excellent physical assessment skills required
• Minimum of one recent year medical experience within a hospital setting, required
• Telemetry and/or oncologic and palliative nursing experience preferred
• Demonstrated ongoing professional education in related clinical area
• Ability to integrate discharge planning and appropriate use of community resources into care plan
• Ability to work in a patient centered, multi-disciplinary team environment
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiating skills
• IV trained and certified or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Certification in central line care required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Familiarity with blood products and transfusion protocols
• Experience with Meditech system modules preferred
• Ability to attend work regularly
• Eligible to apply for this position by ONA collective agreement

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional patient care through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary health care professionals to provide nursing care per hospital policies.
• Coordinates patient care including discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Assists with charge nurse duties as needed.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
