Job summary

Hawkesbury and District General Hospital is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our main campus in Hawkesbury, Ontario. You will provide high-quality patient care, perform initial assessments, and implement care plans in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold Ontario RN registration, CPR, and have recent hospital-based experience, preferably in emergency department settings. Bilingual in French and English is highly valued for serving our diverse community.

Qualifications

• For Ontario RN, active registration or eligibility with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current CPR certification and hospital-based clinical experience.
• Recent ED or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initial assessment of patients upon arrival.
• Implement care plans and monitor patient status.
• Reassess and adjust interventions as needed.
• Reassure patients and families; lead collaboration within the team.

IN TERMS OF ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE, YOUR APPLICATION WILL STAND OUT FROM THE REST IF YOU HAVE:

• A certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (or proof that you are eligible for registration), as well as a current CPR certification;
• Recent clinical experience in a hospital setting, at least 2 years in an emergency department.
• You are familiar with various nursing techniques such as starting an IV, performing drainage, taking samples, changing dressings, etc.
