The emergency department requires specialized training, handling both critical and non-critical patients. It offers challenging situations and rewarding experiences in a fast-paced environment where you can make a difference.

This position is ideal for nurses without prior emergency experience. An Orientation Program will be provided, and a two-year commitment is required. Successful candidates will need to work full-time for 3 months to complete the Novice Nurse Program.

Rotation/Shifts

Days and nights, including weekends, 12-hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • At least 6 months of recent medical/surgical experience
  • ACLS certification in progress or completed and/or emergency nursing course
  • Commitment to continuing education and departmental activities
  • Knowledge of nursing process and patient teaching
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Professional attitude towards patients and colleagues
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • At least 2 years of recent medical/surgical experience
  • Post-graduate studies
  • Proficiency in English and French (advanced speaking and comprehension)
