Job summary

Brightshores Owen Sound seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency department, providing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced setting. You will assess, plan and implement treatments from infant to adult ages, ensuring safety and high-quality outcomes.

You will engage with physicians, families and a multi-disciplinary team, mentoring new staff, and contributing to unit projects while maintaining composure during crises and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility (required).
• Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS (required).
• 12–24 months ER/CC experience (required).
• Demonstrate Emergency Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate.
• Excellent assessment, interviewing and collaboration with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to critically ill adults, children and infants using supportive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative approaches.
• Promote health, assess conditions and administer treatments per unit protocols.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and interprofessional teams; participate in staff meetings and unit projects.

WAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98

Reporting to the Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to critically ill adults, children and infants, in order to attain or maintain optimal function.

Required

• Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility

• Arrhythmia interpretation
• 12- 24 months emergency room/ Critical Care experience
• Demonstrate the Emergency Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluated emergency patients (to be tested)

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
• Demonstrate willingness to participate in staff meeting and unit specific projects
