The Clinical Care Program is currently seeking a part-time, temporary (12 months) Registered Nurse to work on the Crisis Critical Care Unit 4. This is an exciting professional opportunity!
The model of care on the new unit will emphasize treatment of concurrent disorders and patient engagement in therapeutic programming, and you will have opportunities for capacity building and skill development.
As a member of an inter-professional team, you will:
The successful candidate must be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. A current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate is also required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess or are currently pursuing a BScN and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to develop the Nurse-Client relationship and work within a collaborative and diverse inter-professional team. Effective leadership, decision-making, organizational and problem-solving skills are required. You have demonstrated ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behaviour. Nursing experience caring for individuals with mental illness and/or addiction issues is required. The ability to work with clients of diverse cultural and social backgrounds is necessary. Computer literacy is required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please note: This part-time, temporary (12 months) position is a 0.45 commitment, which may be subject to change as per the Collective Agreement. Additional hours may be available based on operational needs. This position is part of the ONA Bargaining Unit.
