Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an opportunity available for a Registered Nurse (RN) at Edson Healthcare Centre, a state-of-the-art hospital built in 2016. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. You will support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance, providing safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care aligned with AHS values.
Note: Provisional Permit Holders will be paid $39.58/hour - $54.16/hour. Upon registration as a Registered Nurse, pay will be adjusted according to AHS/UNA agreements.
Qualifications include completion of an accredited nursing program, active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), and current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If not practiced as a nurse within the last five years, completion of CRNA Medication Management and NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification is required.
Additional qualifications include physical ability to perform patient transfers, certification in IV initiation and infusion therapy, and skills in communication, de-escalation, and active listening. Experience with electronic medical records and Windows computers is also required.
Preferred qualifications include ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC, Rural Nurse Connect Care training, RSI or airway management experience, breastfeeding support, and recent experience in labor and delivery, emergency, or rural acute care. Charge Nurse or incident command experience is a plus.
