Job summary

Lakewood Dental Centre in Edmonton's Mill Woods neighbourhood is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists, prep rooms, take X-rays, and maintain a safe, clean practice. You will update charts, educate patients on oral hygiene, help with scheduling, and ensure smooth patient flow while adhering to IPAC standards.

Qualifications

  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body required.
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

Schedule:
  • Monday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Every other Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Your Role:

About You:
  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
