Comfort Keepers Victoria seeks a Registered Care Aide to support clients across Sooke and nearby communities. You will assist with daily care, observe changes, and coordinate with the health care team to promote independence and comfort.

Requirements include completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program with BC Registry Number, a valid driver’s license and vehicle, and First Aid/CPR. We offer paid training, extended health benefits, flexible hours, and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well with clients, families, and health care teams

We want to hear from you! Are you a strong team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the Sooke area.

As a Caregiver you will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry Number
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing
• Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
• Ability to organize work
• Ability to operate related equipment
• Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle is a must!
• First Aid/CPR certificate
• Willing to commute

Our office serves seniors across the island and surrounding communities, including Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt, Westshore and Sooke. This position may require travel to those areas - we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
