Comfort Keepers is seeking a Registered Care Aide to join our Sooke-area team. You will provide compassionate home support and work under the direction of the health care team to help clients with ADLs and IADLs. You will drive clients to appointments when needed and contribute to a safe, clean home environment.

Formación

• Graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent with BC Registry Number.
• Have or be able to obtain a criminal record check.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to interact with others respectfully and professionally.
• Physical ability to perform duties.
• Ability to organize workload and operate related equipment.
• First Aid/CPR certificate.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in delivering client care and home support under health care team guidance.
• Observe and report significant changes in clients’ condition.
• Collaborate with health care team, clients and caregivers to maximize independence in ADLs/IADLs.
• Assist with bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding and toileting.
• Help with meal prep, groceries, laundry and household tasks.
• Motivate and involve clients in their care.
• Provide input to care planning with the health care team.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
• Drive clients to appointments and outings when needed.

Are you a strong team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the Sooke area.

As a Caregiver you will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry Number
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing
• Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
• Ability to organize workAbility to operate related equipment
• Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle is a must!
• First Aid/CPR certificate

Our office serves seniors across the island and surrounding communities, including Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt, Westshore and Sooke. This position may require travel to those areas – we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
