Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Registered Care Aide for Jubilee Lodge in Prince George. You will support residents with daily living activities and assist with clinical tasks under supervision, following the organization’s care philosophy and policies.

The role requires completion of a Nursing Assistant Program and registration with the BC Care Aide Registry, with emphasis on compassionate care, teamwork, and reliable operation of essential equipment.

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 or higher plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent.
  • Must be registered with the BC Care Aide Registry or Community Health Worker Registry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resident care in line with resident-centred care philosophy and facility policies.
  • Perform nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse and respiration.
  • Assist with activities of daily living and related duties.
  • Transport residents and complete clerical tasks as needed.

Position Summary

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Registered Care Aide provides resident care in accordance with resident-centred care philosophy and established regional and facility policies and procedures. As part of the multidisciplinary team and under the direction of the Manager or designate, the Registered Care Aide performs nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse and respiration in addition to resident care duties relating to activities of daily living, including personal, social, physical and recreational needs. Transports residents and performs clerical duties.

Must have current registration with the BC Care Aide Registry
Qualfications
  • Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience and registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
