Your Role at Petcurean: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM), Western Canada is a key leadership role at Petcurean, responsible for translating national sales strategy into effective regional execution. Leading a team of Territory Sales Managers (TSMs), the RSM is accountable for driving sales growth, deepening customer and distributor relationships, and ensuring performance targets are met or exceeded across the Western Canadian region.
With a strong focus on coaching, development, and consultative selling, the RSM empowers their team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and build meaningful, sustainable partnerships. This role serves as a strategic connector between Petcurean's national priorities and the unique needs of the local market-ensuring alignment, operational excellence, and a continued commitment to our mission of putting pets first.
If you were the Regional Sales Manager now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Lead regional sales initiatives, driving profitable growth through effective planning, execution, and accountability.
- In partnership with the Director of Sales, Canada, develop and refine regional sales strategies and plans, including:
- Regional Sales Objectives
- DAMP/KAMP/SAMP Programs
- Corporate Promotional Programs
- Colaborate in the development of marketing collaterals
- Take full ownership of regional distributor relationships, ensuring partners meet revenue, service, and budget targets.
- Collaborate with national sales leadership to align on distributor strategies and performance standards.
- Act as the primary escalation point for resolving issues raised by internal or external stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage the performance of Territory Sales Managers (TSMs), ensuring they meet their objectives and deliver results.
- Coach and mentor the team to adopt a consultative sales approach, focusing on growth and performance.
- Collaborate with the Sales Effectiveness Manager to create tailored coaching and training plans for TSMs.
- Conduct ride-alongs and one-on-one sessions to assess performance, provide feedback, and identify growth opportunities.
- Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, training, and retention efforts to build a top-performing sales team.
- Foster a high-performance culture based on accountability, growth, and teamwork.
- Collaborate and align with distributor sales teams to drive executional excellence and achieve mutual goals.
Key Account & Customer Management
- Work with the Regional Key Account Manager to ensure TSMs are focused on top accounts and maintaining strong local distribution relationships.
- Support the team in identifying new growth opportunities within channels and customer segments.
- Champion Petcurean's mission and brand by staying informed on products and industry trends.
Reporting & Financial Management
- Contribute to the development of the regional sales budget, monitoring team expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Track and report sales performance against goals, evaluating the success of regional strategies.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.

Are you our next Regional Sales Manager? Here are some of our must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience); formal sales or consultative selling training preferred.
- 5+ years of field sales leadership experience, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Proven track record in managing remote teams, coaching sales professionals, and building high-performance cultures.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms and analytics tools to drive visibility and accountability.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
