Job summary

Amrize Aggregates is seeking a Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright to join our Alberta operation and work with the Maintenance Foreman to grow a structured mechanical maintenance program.

This role goes beyond reacting to breakdowns; you will help establish preventative maintenance practices, inspections, and standards that shape how we maintain crushers, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright certification and valid driver’s license.
• Ideally 5+ years of industrial millwright experience; relevant experience considered.
• Experience with aggregate processing equipment (crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, gearboxes, rotating machinery).
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving, safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulics.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and diagnose equipment problems.
• Identify conditions and maintenance requirements before failures occur.
• Perform mechanical installations, alignment, leveling, and commissioning.
• Maintain bearings, seals, lubrication systems, drive components, and rotating equipment.
• Inspect equipment and conduct condition assessments.
• Rigging, hoisting, welding, and basic fabrication as required.
• Support plant shutdowns, equipment overhauls, repairs and improvement projects.
• Complete work orders, inspections, and maintenance documentation.
• Commit to safety and environmental policies and promote a safety culture.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize Aggregates is looking for an experienced Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright to join our aggregate operation and work directly with the Maintenance Foreman to grow and further establish a structured mechanical maintenance program.

This is an opportunity for a millwright who wants to do more than respond to breakdowns.

Our maintenance program is being developed, and the person we hire will have the opportunity to bring their experience, knowledge, and ideas to the table — helping establish preventative maintenance practices, inspection routines, maintenance standards, and expectations that will shape how we maintain our equipment going forward.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Preventative and corrective maintenance on crushers, conveyors, vibrating screens, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and related equipment.
• Troubleshooting mechanical failures and diagnosing equipment problems.
• Identifying equipment condition issues and maintenance requirements before failures occur.
• Mechanical installations, alignment, leveling, and commissioning.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of bearings, seals, lubrication systems, drive components, and rotating equipment.
• Equipment inspections and condition assessments.
• Rigging, hoisting, and lifting operations. Welding, cutting, and basic fabrication as required.
• Supporting plant shutdowns, equipment overhauls, repairs, and improvement projects.
• Completing work orders, inspections, and maintenance documentation.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Training/Certifications: Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright certification. Valid driver's license.
Required Work Experience: Ideally 5+ years of industrial millwright experience; relevant experience will be considered. Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining heavy industrial equipment. Experience with aggregate processing equipment such as crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating machinery.

Additional Requirements

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of bearings, seals, lubrication systems, drive components, and mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with mechanical installations, precision alignment, rigging, welding, and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the Maintenance Foreman and Operations team.
• Strong commitment to safety, accountability, and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces as required.
• Ability to operate or work around relevant lifting and mobile equipment, subject to training and authorization.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
