Job summary

Amrize Canada Inc. is seeking a Quarry Labour Maintenance and Labourer to support portable crushing operations across sites in Kingston and surrounding regions. You will perform daily maintenance on conveyors, crushers, screens, wash plants and mobile equipment, following Amrize’s safety standards.

This role requires shift work, weekend work occasionally, and travel with portable plants. Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and mechanical aptitude to operate

• Experience in industrial plant operation or maintenance is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform heavy manual labor.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with Amrize and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain conveyors, crushers, screens, wash plants and related mobile equipment.
• Schedule and perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Perform equipment adjustments and repairs to ensure efficient operation.
• Keep the site clean and orderly through general housekeeping tasks.
• Communicate and uphold health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments.

About The Role

As a member of the Portable Crushing team, the Maintenance/Labourer is responsible for the daily maintenance activity and management for their specific area. The Maintenance position will execute the daily tasks required to maintain the conveyors, crushers, screens, wash plants and related mobile equipment in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies. The incumbent will implement internal processes and controls to drive maintenance efficiency and cost optimization while ensuring worker/contractor safety through compliance with Amrize and Provincial Safety legislation, policies and procedures. This position requires shift work (Days/Afternoons/Nights) and occasional weekend work. Travel with the portable plants as required.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, subcontractors, and suppliers, and the implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with the goal of "zero" safety incidents.
• Administer and promote safety policies, processes, and review procedures to ensure the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines.
• Report and manage environmental spills as they occur and operate equipment effectively to minimize the carbon footprint of machinery.
• Ensure equipment is operated according to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
• Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance inspections are scheduled and completed.
• Perform adjustments and cleanup on equipment to ensure it runs efficiently, and perform repairs as needed.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure the site is presentable.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required
• Required Work Experience: Experience in industrial plant operation and/or maintenance, as well as heavy equipment operation, is an asset
• Required Technical Skills: The position requires mechanical aptitude, extensive manual labor, and specific mobile equipment training. Training in First Aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner, Confined Space, and Working-at-heights is also required.
• Travel Requirements: Travel is required as the plant moves.

Additional Requirements

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
