Job summary

Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) is seeking a Recruitment Advisor to coordinate full-cycle recruitment for IRC and supported entities. Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment, you will manage competitions from posting to offer, support hiring managers and candidates, and ensure compliant records and BambooHR usage.

You will promote a positive candidate experience, support beneficiary employment pathways, identify recruitment risks, and partner with HR Operations to streamline onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Organizational Development, HR-related field or equivalent
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices, structured interviewing, and fair hiring processes.
  • Understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and handling of candidate information.
  • Experience with recruitment workflows and candidate management.
  • Familiarity with HR service delivery models and onboarding connections.
  • Ability to manage multiple competitions from start to finish with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Proficient use of recruitment tools to track and manage candidates.
  • Ability to identify recruitment risks and escalate appropriately.
  • Maintain fairness, professionalism, and consistency under competing priorities.
  • Adapt to northern environment changes and travel as needed.
  • Willingness to contribute to process/template/workflow improvements.
  • Discretion when handling sensitive recruitment matters.

ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)

Established in 1984 to manage the settlement outlined in the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA), Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) represents the collective interests of Inuvialuit. IRC’s goal is to continually improve the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Inuvialuit through implementation of the IFA and by all other available means. Through strong partnerships and community‑driven programs, the organization supports economic growth, cultural preservation and opportunities for current and future generations.

Inuvialuit beneficiaries directly control IRC and its subsidiaries through a democratic process of elected directors from each of the six community corporations with chairs at the IRC Board, a process originally outlined in the IFA.

JOB SUMMARY

The Recruitment Advisor is responsible for coordinating and executing full-cycle recruitment activities for IRC and supported entities. Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment, this role manages recruitment competitions from posting to offer, supports hiring managers and candidates throughout the process, maintains accurate and compliant recruitment records, and oversees candidate progression within BambooHR.

The Recruitment Advisor promotes a positive and culturally respectful candidate experience, supports beneficiary employment pathways, identifies and escalates recruitment risks, and collaborates with HR Operations to ensure seamless recruitment and onboarding processes. This position requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality, fairness, and service excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be/have:

  • Diploma
    • Business Administration, Organizational Development, Concentration in Human Resources or a related field, or
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Using recruitment tools to track and manage candidates.
  • Identifying recruitment risks and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Maintain fairness, professionalism, and consistency while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and recruitment demands in a northern environment.
  • Work independently while following established processes and seeking guidance when needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through process, template, and workflow enhancements.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information and recruitment matters.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • The position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
  • The role is primarily office‑based, operating in a professional office environment in Inuvik, NT, with regular use of a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Standard business hours (Monday to Friday), with flexibility required during recruitment peaks.
  • Sustained concentration required; competing priorities are common.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support alignment with communities or partners depending on needs.
  • Casual or term positions may be considered for future conversion to indeterminate status.
