IRC’s goal is to continually improve the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Inuvialuit through implementation of the IFA and by all other available means. Through strong partnerships and community‑driven programs, the organization supports economic growth, cultural preservation and opportunities for current and future generations.
Inuvialuit beneficiaries directly control IRC and its subsidiaries through a democratic process of elected directors from each of the six community corporations with chairs at the IRC Board, a process originally outlined in the IFA.
The Maligaksat - Services Coordinator is responsible for advocating on behalf of Inuvialuit children, both in the ISR and across Canada, particularly those involved in child welfare systems, to ensure that their basic needs are met, their development is supported, and they can maintain as strong a connection as possible with their culture, community, and family.
