Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. in Owen Sound, Ontario is seeking a bilingual Recruiter & HR Generalist (English/French) to lead full-cycle recruitment and provide HR support across multi-site Canadian operations.

Based at our head office, you will partner with leaders to attract, hire and onboard talent, manage employee changes and benefits, and ensure policy compliance while maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written) is required.
• Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, incl. full-cycle recruitment.
• Experience sourcing and recruiting across a variety of roles.
• Knowledge of Canadian employment standards and HR best practices.
• Experience with HRIS and platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead Full-Cycle Recruitment: partner with managers, post ads, source, interview, and extend offers.
• Support Employee Onboarding: coordinate onboarding, HRIS setup, and documentation.
• Provide HR Generalist Support: advise on relations, attendance, performance, and policy.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement: HRIS data, projects, and process optimization.

We are seeking a Bilingual Recruiter & Human Resources Generalist (English/French) to support our growing, multi-site Canadian operations. You will partner with leaders across the organization to attract, engage, and hire top talent while providing generalist HR support that contributes to an exceptional employee experience. What You’ll Do

Lead Full-Cycle Recruitment

• Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and recruitment strategies.
• Create and post compelling job advertisements that attract top talent.
• Source candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, networking, referrals, and industry channels.
• Screen resumes, conduct interviews, coordinate hiring panels, and complete reference checks.
• Prepare and extend employment offers.
• Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
• Develop recruitment metrics and provide insights on time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and hiring trends.
• Collaborate with external recruiting partners and vendors when required.

Support Employee Onboarding

• Coordinate onboarding activities and employee system set-ups.
• Prepare employment documentation and support HRIS transactions.
• Ensure new hires receive a positive and engaging onboarding experience.
• Assist with payroll-related employee changes and HR documentation.

Provide HR Generalist Support

• Advise managers on employee relations, attendance, performance management, and policy interpretation.
• Support leave management, disability programs, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
• Assist with benefits administration and employee lifecycle activities.
• Promote compliance with employment legislation, privacy requirements, and company policies.

Contribute to Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate HRIS records and reporting.
• Support HR projects related to recruitment, onboarding, process improvement, and employee experience.
• Identify opportunities to enhance HR practices and operational efficiency.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written) is required.
• Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including significant full-cycle recruitment responsibilities.
• Proven experience sourcing and recruiting candidates across a variety of roles.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment standards and HR best practices.
• Experience using HRIS systems and recruitment platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• CHRP or CHRL designation (or working toward certification).
• Experience supporting unionized environments.
• Experience with disability management, leaves of absence, and return-to-work programs.
• Knowledge of privacy, human rights, and occupational health and safety legislation.
