Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking a casual Activity Aide to support a vibrant recreation program for residents in a long-term care setting.

The role involves planning, developing and running meaningful activities, collaborating with staff and volunteers, and ensuring programs align with AgeCare’s resident-centered philosophy. Prior seniorcare experience and relevant recreation education are preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with seniors, preferably in a long-term care setting.
• Graduate of a post-secondary diploma or degree program in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation or related field.
• Enrolled in college/university with intent to complete program within three years of hire OR health-care related degree/diploma with recreation principles experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and runs recreation and leisure activities for residents.
• Supports development and maintenance of resident engagement and relationships.
• Documents changes in resident participation and updates care plans as appropriate.
• Collaborates with staff to foster a resident-centered activity program.
