Job summary

Schlegel Villages is seeking a part-time Recreation Team Member at The Village of Winston Park to support resident-centered activities and programs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver engaging recreation experiences that enhance quality of life.

The role requires a diploma/degree in recreation/leisure studies or gerontology and a caring, respectful approach toward residents and families. Opportunities for growth, benefits, and a strong family culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Be enrolled in/completed diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care that focusses on flexible living and quality of life
  • Plan and implement programs
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation (asset)
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices and Long-Term Care Homes Act awareness (asset)

  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
  • An understanding of the relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
