Job summary

The Village of Taunton Mills in Whitby, ON, invites applications for a Permanent Part Time Recreation Team Member. You will help deliver a holistic recreational program for residents, collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, and document engagement and wellbeing in activities and 1:1 care.

Hours are bi-weekly 30, with every other weekend; shifts include 1pm-4pm, 10am-4:30pm, or 12:30pm-7pm. The role offers competitive compensation of $19.81 per hour under the collective agreement, with

Description

The Village of Taunton Mills has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part Time Recreation Team Member to join their team on Emma's neighborhood.

Working 30 hours bi-weekly, six days in two weeks rotating schedule, including every other weekend.

Working Hours: 1pm-4pm, 10am-4:30pm, 12:30pm-7pm

The hiring rate for this role is $ 19.81 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

As a new Recreation Team Member you will:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
  • Experience facilitating group activities and programs
  • Proficiency documenting residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in programs and 1:1 activities
  • Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
  • Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents

As a new Recreation Team Member joining our Village Team it would be an ASSET but not required for you to having the following:

  • Hold a diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
