Job summary

The Salvation Army Harbour Light is seeking a Peer Support Worker to support clients in Vancouver's downtown eastside within a multi-program facility. You will handle clientele relations outside regular hours, facilitate 12-step groups, and provide direct client contact alongside administrative duties.

Willingness to maintain confidentiality, work within recovery frameworks, and support staff across shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of 12-step recovery principles is required.
• Lived recovery experience is a significant asset.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Experience working with diverse populations in social services environments.
• Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clientele relationships and provide afterhours support as needed.
• Facilitate 12-step and supportive group activities.
• Assist in intake, documentation, and coordination with treatment staff.
• Provide direct client contact and documentation of check-ins per shift.
• Support in administration and inter-departmental collaboration while upholding safety policies.
