Job summary

Altum Health, a department within the University Health Network, seeks a Records Management Representative to support the Toronto Central Administration team.

The role involves data entry, report uploading, billing, inbox management, EMR input and maintenance, and releasing patient information in compliance with hospital guidelines and laws. 37.5 hours/week, days, Monday to Friday, temporary 18-month contract.

Qualifications

  • Completion of High School education required.
  • Completion of related College diploma and/or certificate (Health Records, Medical Record Management, Medical Office Administration) preferred.
  • One year or more of related experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Experience in working with Electronic Medical Records required (Telus Practice Solutions Suite preferred).
  • Exercise initiative and good judgement with the ability to multitask.
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy.
  • Ability to function independently with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies.

We are currently looking for an experienced Records Management Representative to support our Toronto/Central Administration team. The Records Management Representative performs data entry responsibilities, report uploading, billing activities, inbox management, inputting and maintenance of electronic medical records, and performs cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification as required.

The Records Management Representative also responds to requests to release patient information coming in from various sources including patients, law firms, insurance companies and other health care providers, ensuring that all requests to release patient information are completed in accordance with the Hospital’s guidelines and as required by law.

  • Completion of High School education required
  • Completion of related College diploma and/or certificate(Health Records, Medical Record Management, Medical Office Administration)preferred
  • One (1) year or more of related experience required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Experience in working with Electronic Medical Records required (Telus Practice Solutions Suite preferred)
