Job summary

PARC Retirement Living is seeking a Receptionist for Cristalina PARC in Kelowna. You will greet residents and visitors, manage calls, invoices, and scheduling, and assist with events and other departments. The role emphasizes warmth, professionalism and strong computer skills.

Ideal candidates will have Grade 12, at least two years of reception experience, and certifications in First Aid/CPR with WHMIS; FOODSAFE is a plus. A living wage and flexible hours are highlighted in the perks.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• At least two years of reception experience in a similar environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional conduct.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher.
• First Aid and CPR certifications; WHMIS; FOODSAFE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greeting residents and visitors to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
• Answering phone calls and responding to inquiries; handling deliveries and service requests.
• Managing the residence driver’s schedule and resolving booking conflicts.
• Scanning payable invoices and routing for approval; assisting with security issues as needed.
• Supporting recreation programs and events and assisting other departments as requested.

As Receptionist, you are the communication hub of the community – and on the frontline of communicating our values to residents and families. This means:

• Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere by greeting residents and visitors.
• Performing a variety of administrative and support services in a professional, courteous, efficient and organized manner.
• Answering phone calls and responding to requests from residents and visitors – along with other reception duties such as answering resident inquiries, receiving deliveries and organizing service requests.
• Managing the residence driver’s schedule and handling any booking conflicts.
• Scanning payable invoices and submitting them to appropriate managers for approval.
• Responding to emergency calls and assisting with security issues.
• Assisting with recreation programs and events.
• Supporting Food Service, Housekeeping and other departments as requested.

• You have a Grade 12 education or equivalent, and at least two years of reception experience in a similar environment, with a strong focus on customer service.
• You’re consistently professional and courteous; able to interact tactfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• You handle high-stress situations calmly, and are comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• You have exceptionally strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher. Knowledge of other accounting, publishing and graphics software, such as Canva, would be an asset, too.
• You have current First Aid and CPR certifications, along with WHMIS. FOODSAFE is an asset, as well.
• You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and the professionals engaged in their care.
