Job Description

MAJOR DUTIES:

The Receiving Inspectors are responsible for ensuring incoming products meet the requirements specified in the Purchase Order and Engineering specifications. Requirements are defined within JDE and may include visual inspection, documentation review/interpretation, and physical measurement inspection. Inspectors perform timely product reviews to ensure materials are available for continued production.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with ATS code of business conduct.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures.
• Comply with all ATS Policies, Procedures, and Instructions as per the ATS LS BQMS.
• Maintain confidentiality in all business activities.
• Lead or participate in Continual Improvement Activities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete tasks to ensure received product quality aligns with design specifications.
• Perform inspection functions and documentations as specified on engineering drawings, control plans, checklists, rework instructions, etc.
• Follow deviation procedures if parts or assemblies do not conform to specifications.
• Assist in completing and reviewing Part FAI’s.
• Follow lab instructions and activities.
• Collect and report Certificates of Compliance (C of C’s) as required.
• Complete SPC charts as appropriate.
• Assist in Measurement Systems Analysis as needed.
• Set up inspection equipment as required.
• Perform administrative duties (filing, photocopying, etc.).
• Report calibration issues of measuring equipment to Quality Technician.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Perform other related duties based on individual skill or experience.

Qualifications

Education:

Receiving Inspectors must have at least a grade 12 education or equivalent. Strong math skills are an asset, as are completed Quality courses from a community college.

Experience:

• Knowledge of quality assurance fundamentals.
• Knowledge of SPC (an asset).
• Knowledge of Blueprint Reading and GD&T.
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as Vernier, Micrometers, Optical Comparator, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
