Job Description

MAJOR DUTIES:

The Receiving Inspectors are responsible for ensuring incoming products match requirements specified in the Purchase Order and Engineering specifications. Requirements are defined within JDE and may involve visual inspection, documentation review/interpretation, and physical measurement inspections. Receiving Inspectors perform timely reviews to ensure material availability for continued production.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all business activities are performed ethically and in compliance with ATS code of conduct.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures.
• Comply with ATS Policies / Procedures / Instructions as per the ATS LS BQMS.
• Maintain confidentiality according to ATS policies.
• Lead or participate in continual improvement activities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure received product quality aligns with design specifications.
• Perform inspection functions and documentations as per engineering drawings, control plans, checklists, or instructions.
• Follow deviation processes if parts do not conform to specifications.
• Assist in completing and reviewing Part FAI’s.
• Follow lab instructions and activities.
• Collect and report Certificates of Compliance (C of C’s).
• Complete SPC charts as appropriate.
• Assist with Measurement Systems Analysis.
• Set up inspection equipment as required.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing and photocopying.
• Report calibration issues of measuring equipment to the Quality Technician.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

Receiving Inspectors must have at least a grade 12 education or equivalent. Exceptional math skills and completed quality courses are assets.

Experience:

• Knowledge of quality assurance fundamentals.
• Knowledge of SPC (an asset).
• Knowledge of Blueprint Reading and GD&T.
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as Vernier, Micrometers, Optical Comparator.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
