Job summary

Today's Family Early Learning and Child Services in Hamilton, ON is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator for a full-time, permanent role. You will develop and deliver high-quality programs, meet CCEYA requirements, and collaborate closely with families to support children's learning through play.

The position offers a starting wage of approximately $25.37–$28.37 per hour, with 37.5 hours per week. Applicants must hold an ECE credential, current immunizations, First Aid/CPR, and a recent

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
  • Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
  • Understanding of How Does Learning Happen? framework.
  • Experience working with children in a child care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with children to co-create experiences exploring their interests.
  • Offer dynamic, diverse programming that supports well-being, engagement and expression.
  • Explore diverse approaches to early learning (Reggio-inspired, play-based, project-based, outdoor education, arts-based).
  • Facilitate belonging by creating welcoming, safe environments for children and families.
  • Build strong family partnerships through meaningful communication and involvement opportunities.
  • Align with Ontario’s emergent curriculum and How Does Learning Happen? pedagogical philosophy.

Education

Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education
Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing
First Aid and CPR-C Certification
Immunizations up to date (TB Test, Tetanus, Polio, MMR)
Current Vulnerable Sector Check

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with children as our partners to co-create experiences to investigate, explore, and amplify their interests.
  • Offer dynamic, diverse, and unique programming that supports the well-being, engagement, and expression of children.
  • Consider and explore a wide variety of approaches to early learning, including Reggio-Emilia Approach, Play-based and Project-based Learning, Outdoor Education, Arts-based Learning, HIGH Five Principles of Healthy Child Development, Positive Youth Development, among other evidence-based approaches and practices.
  • Facilitate belonging for children and families by creating welcoming, accepting, and safe environments for children and families to learn and play.
  • Work collaboratively to build strong family partnerships in our communities through meaningful communication, facilitation of events and opportunities to involve and engage families in our work.
  • Be innovative in their approach to alignment with Ontario’s emergent curriculum and guiding pedagogical philosophy, ‘How Does Learning Happen?’
