Job summary

Today’s Family is seeking an experienced Child Care Supervisor to lead the site and support a team of educators. You will ensure high-quality interactions and program delivery in line with the How Does Learning Happen framework.

As a not-for-profit serving diverse communities, you will collaborate with families and community partners to promote equity, respect for diversity, and belonging for every family. This role emphasizes growth, inclusion, and excellence in early learning.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in licensed child care.
  • Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
  • Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen pedagogy.
  • Up-to-date immunizations (TB test, tetanus, polio, MMR).

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the child care team.
  • Supervise, guide and assist staff daily.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the child care site.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of How Does Learning Happen pedagogy.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff and community partners.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide Leadership to the child care team.
  • Supervise, guide and assist staff in daily activities.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the child care site.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s “How Does Learning Happen?” pedagogy for Early Years.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff and community partners.
  • Adhere to Today's Family's policies and procedures and the College of ECEs Code of Ethics and Professional Practices to ensure the highest quality of interactions, relationships, and engagement with children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff.
  • Ensure a strong commitment to leading and caring with an intent for Equity, respect for Diversity, demand for Inclusion, and facilitation of Belonging that every family deserves.
Licenses & Certifications Required
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator, in good standing
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (done in the last 6 months)
You Bring the Following Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum of 1 year of Supervisory experience working in a licensed child care setting
  • Current knowledge and understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
  • Thorough knowledge ofHow Does Learning Happen?
  • Experience working with children in a child care setting
  • Record of up-to-date Immunizations (TB Test, Tetanus, Polio, MMR)
