Our client is a growing national organization operating within the telecommunications infrastructure and commercial real estate sector. They are seeking a confident and highly organized Real Estate Lease Specialist to support the ongoing management and renewal of a national portfolio of land and lease agreements. Reporting to the Director of Real Estate & Administration, the successful candidate will work directly with property owners and external stakeholders to negotiate lease renewals, extensions and other lease-related agreements. This is not a traditional sales role. The focus is on protecting existing assets, maintaining strong landowner relationships, and securing long-term lease arrangements across the organization's portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong negotiation skills who enjoys working independently, managing multiple priorities and communicating with a wide variety of people and organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate lease renewal activities across an existing national portfolio.
  • Proactively contact landowners and property stakeholders regarding upcoming lease expirations and renewal opportunities.
  • Negotiate lease terms, extensions, renewals and other lease-related agreements.
  • Support lease buyout discussions where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with individual landowners, corporations, government organizations and other external stakeholders.
  • Clearly explain lease terms, agreements and proposed changes to stakeholders with varying levels of real estate knowledge.
  • Review existing agreements and identify upcoming renewal requirements and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate lease records, documentation and correspondence.
  • Coordinate internally with Real Estate, Administration and other business teams to support portfolio requirements.
  • Manage multiple negotiations and files simultaneously while ensuring timelines and follow-up requirements are met.
  • Support other real estate and lease administration initiatives as required.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 3-6 years of experience in commercial real estate, land acquisition, lease administration, contract negotiation, property management, telecommunications, urban planning or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating agreements, contracts, leases or commercial terms.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable negotiating with a wide variety of stakeholders, from individual property owners to large organizations.
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly and adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Self-directed and comfortable managing multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong judgment and confidence when navigating negotiations and sensitive conversations.
  • Post-secondary education in business, real estate, urban planning or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Telecommunications or wireless infrastructure experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong English communication skills are required.
  • French language skills are considered an asset.
What Makes Someone Stand Out
  • Experience negotiating commercial leases or land agreements.
  • Background in commercial real estate, telecom infrastructure or land acquisition.
  • Experience managing lease renewals or maintaining an existing property/land portfolio.
  • A track record of successfully negotiating with a broad range of property owners and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to handle difficult or complex negotiations.
  • Experience working across different provinces or jurisdictions.
  • Urban planning, land-use, infrastructure or related real estate experience.
  • Resourceful, organized and proactive, with the ability to move negotiations forward without constant direction.
Why Join?

Join a growing organization operating across Canada. Work directly with an experienced real estate leader and gain exposure to a unique national portfolio. Take ownership of lease negotiations and build long-term relationships with property owners and stakeholders. Work in a role that combines commercial real estate, negotiation, relationship management and infrastructure. Collaborative environment with significant autonomy and visibility. Hybrid work arrangement with flexibility. Opportunity to develop specialized experience within the telecommunications infrastructure and real estate sectors. This position is best suited to someone who enjoys negotiation and relationship management rather than traditional sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing and protecting existing lease arrangements rather than generating new business.
