Law Clerk/Office Manager at Sutherland Law

Location: Vaughan, Ontario

Position Type: Full-Time

About Us:

Sutherland Law is a dynamic and growing law firm based in Vaughan, providing legal services in a range of practice areas including real estate, litigation, and condominium law. We are currently seeking a Real Estate Law Clerk/Assistant to join our team and support our Senior Law Clerk in handling real estate closings and condominium collection matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Law Clerk with residential and commercial real estate transactions (purchases, sales, and mortgages)
  • Prepare closing documents, conduct title searches, and review agreements of purchase and sale
  • Communicate with clients, lenders, realtors, and opposing counsel to coordinate closings
  • Draft correspondence and legal documents related to condominium lien enforcement and collections
  • Manage deadlines, diarize key dates, and maintain organized electronic files
  • Provide general administrative and legal support as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a real estate law clerk or legal assistant role
  • Familiarity with Teraview, Conveyancer, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple files and work under deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and professional approach
