Job summary

EFS-plastics Inc. is hiring a Raw Material Quality Inspector to verify incoming plastics materials, collect samples, and document results in our quality systems. This day-shift role requires careful, repetitive inspection work in a warehouse setting and interaction with suppliers and third-party auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and evaluate incoming raw material shipments.

  • Record inspection data, test results, and observations in databases.
  • Prepare and distribute quality reports in a timely manner.

  • Communicate with suppliers, transport providers, and third parties regarding inspections.
  • Operate a forklift to move and stage materials for inspection and storage.
  • Ensure inspections meet established quality standards and procedures.

With three facilities strategically located throughout North America, EFS Plastics Inc. is a successful, growing recycling company that recovers plastic from residential recycling programs. Your detergent bottles, milk jugs and plastic bags can all end up at EFS, where we turn them into plastic resin pellets that can be used to make new products. Our fully automated process diverts mixed plastics from ending up in landfills, not only reducing waste but also conserving valuable resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This plastic waste is converted into high-quality, clean, reprocessed resins used by plastics processors to manufacture a variety of products, from storage and recycling bins to construction materials and consumer goods.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Raw Material Quality Inspector is responsible for the inspection, sampling, analysis, and documentation of incoming raw materials used in the plastics recycling process. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all incoming materials meet established quality specifications and customer requirements before entering production.

The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, capable of accurately recording and reporting inspection results, and comfortable performing repetitive quality verification tasks in a warehouse environment. The position also requires professional interaction with suppliers, carriers, and third-party representatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive, inspect, and evaluate incoming raw material shipments.
  • Collect representative material samples according to established procedures.
  • Perform visual and physical analysis of incoming plastics to verify quality specifications.
  • Identify contamination, non-conforming materials, or quality concerns and escalates findings as required.
  • Accurately record inspection data, test results, and observations in company databases and quality management systems.
  • Prepare and distribute quality reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records to support traceability and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with suppliers, transport providers, and third-party representatives regarding material inspections and quality concerns.
  • Operate a forklift safely to move and stage incoming materials for inspection and storage.
  • Ensure all inspections are completed according to established quality standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material quality and inspection processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including database and spreadsheet use.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive inspection and documentation tasks consistently.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in quality inspection, quality control, recycling, manufacturing, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience working with plastics, polymers, or recycled materials.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles and inspection techniques.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and recycling facility environment.
  • Regular exposure to dust, noise, moving equipment, and changing temperatures.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Repetitive inspection, sampling, and data-entry activities.
  • May require occasional interaction with external suppliers, customers, and third-party auditors.
