Job summary

EFS-Plastics Alberta Inc. in Lethbridge, AB is seeking an Extruder Operator to join our manufacturing team. This full-time role supports our plastic recycling operations, running extruders, performing quality tests, and maintaining a clean, safe plant floor.

The position reports to the Plant Manager and requires reliability, willingness to learn, and the ability to handle daily tasks with attention to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial setting is required.
• Mechanical, equipment and process knowledge is important.
• Forklift, Health & Safety, and First Aid certificates are beneficial.
• Positive attitude and engaged in work are needed.
• Open to daily feedback on performance.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
• Reliable, consistent attendance and punctuality are expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and run extruders efficiently and safely.
• Perform quality testing using provided measuring tools and in-house training on testing machinery.
• Daily housekeeping of plant floor to maintain safe, organized conditions.
• Monitor fully automated extrusion processing lines.
• Perform frequent quality checks on products.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement projects.
• Assist with some mechanical repairs.
• Maintain working area to safety and housekeeping standards.
• Notify shift lead or management of equipment issues.
• Assist in training new operators.
• Additional duties as assigned.

STATUS: Full-Time; Monday - Friday

SHIFT: Days (8:00am - 4:15pm)

Your detergent bottles, milk jugs, and plastic bags all end up at EFS, where they are transformed into plastic resin pellets that are used to make new products. Our fully automated processes divert mixed plastics from ending up in landfills, not only reducing waste but also conserving resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Extruder Operator will primarily be responsible for maintaining extruders efficiently and safely. They will also be responsible for completing quality tests using tools provided, and housekeeping daily of plant floor to maintain safe and organized working conditions.

• Previous experience working in manufacturing or industrial setting.


• Mechanical, equipment and process knowledge.


• Forklift, Health & Safety, and First Aid certificate.

• Able to plan, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
