Job summary

Swissport Winnipeg is seeking a Ramp Agent to perform under-wing ground support services such as loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshalling, water and lavatory servicing, and related tasks.

Apply your ramp experience in a dynamic outdoor environment. You must have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift up to 70 pounds, and communicate in English. Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays is required. Paid training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous ramp experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather.
• Flexible to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds (32 kg).

Responsibilities

• Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure.
• Unload passenger luggage and air cargo onto carts and/or dollies.
• Unload wheelchairs and child strollers and deliver to designated locations.
• Provide special handling of luggage/cargo as required/directed.
• Deliver passenger luggage to the claim area and unload onto the conveyor system.
• Deliver air cargo to the appropriate recipient.
• Operate ground support equipment (tow tractors, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, water/lavatory service trucks, power units, de-icing units, etc.).
• Load/collect mail, live animals, wheelchairs, and strollers.
• Service aircraft water and lavatories.
• Inspect ramp areas for debris and dispose of it.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervision.
• Comply with security requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

To provide all necessary and required under-wing ground support services as contracted by the customer, to include but not be limited to loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshalling, water, and lavatory servicing.

Job Responsibilities

• Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure.
• Unload passenger luggage and air cargo, bulk and/or containers/pallets, onto carts and/or dollies.
• Unload wheelchairs and child strollers and deliver to the designated location.
• Provide special handling of luggage/cargo as required/directed.
• Deliver passenger luggage to the claim area and unload onto the conveyor system.
• Deliver air cargo to the appropriate recipient.
• Drive and/or operate ground support equipment to include tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, water/lavatory service trucks, aircraft ground power units, aircraft air start units, air stairs, aircraft de-icing units, baggage carts, cargo dollies, and passenger vans.
• Collect and load mail, live animals, wheelchairs, and child strollers onto aircraft.
• Service aircraft water and lavatories.
• Inspect ramp areas adjacent to the gate and aircraft for debris and remove/dispose of when found.
• Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager.
• Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier security requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Previous ramp experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license
• Good communication skills in English
• Must be able to work in inclement weather
• Flexible to work on various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
• Excellent Health & Safety awareness
• Lift heavy objects that could reach 70 pounds (32 kilograms)
