Job summary

Scarborough Transit Connect seeks a Commercial Specialist to lead variation management for the SSE-SRS package in Scarborough. You will coordinate with Project Managers, Contractors and Consultants to assess commercial impacts and ensure timely, compliant changes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Construction, 3–5 years in large infrastructure, and 1–2 years in contract management. A proactive, collaborative approach is essential in this rail project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of construction experience on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably rail/transport.
• 1-2 years in contract/change management.
• Familiarity with standard contract templates and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Identify, track and manage variations to the project scope while ensuring contractual compliance.
• Coordinate variation estimates and forecast issuance to leadership and stakeholders.
• Assess impacts of variations on scope, schedule and budget with the cost and risk teams.
• Maintain records of variations with justification, approvals and implementation details.
• Prepare regular status reports on variation management for senior management.
