Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) seeks a Clerk - Medical Imaging Reception to support the Image Service Centre. The role involves booking, front-desk reception, data entry into the Radiology Information System, and assisting imaging staff with patient flow and image handling.

You will answer calls, process requisitions, and help maintain patient records with accuracy and compassion. The successful candidate has Grade 12 and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Typing speed of 45 wpm.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to perform duties.
• Ability to operate related office equipment and computer systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Booking, clerical and receptionist duties including outpatient requisitions.
• Enter patient information into the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Check in patients for scheduled appointments and manage workflow.
• Manipulate and manage digital Medical Imaging images.
• Print and communicate test results to staff and patients.
• Support imaging staff with patient lifting and positioning as needed.
• Answer telephones, mail, and file documents.
