Job summary

CancerCare Manitoba is seeking a Nursing Assistant, Radiation Therapy to support the Radiation Therapy Department under the supervision of the Clinical Resource Therapist. The role involves patient care and clerical duties in a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth operations and patient comfort.

The position includes lifting and transporting patients and equipment, maintaining patient confidentiality, and adhering to PHIA policies. French language ability is preferred; BCLS is required.

Qualifications

• Health Unit Clerk and Health Care Aide Certificates, or equivalent (ie. Nursing Assistant Certificate)
• Current experience in unit clerk and health care aid or related professional health care field.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide reception and clerical support for the Radiation Therapy Department.
• Assist with patient tasks and contribute to patient care and comfort.
• Communicate with patient family members and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of the Radiation Therapy area.
• Handle lifting and transporting of patients, samples and equipment.
