Job summary

Windsor Regional Hospital is seeking a Radiation Therapist to administer prescribed radiation treatments in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist and department standards.

Responsibilities include calculating and verifying treatment prescriptions, maintaining comprehensive treatment records, and responding to patient care needs with extensive patient education. French language ability is an asset; CPR registration is required.

• Graduate from an approved School of Radiation Therapy.
• Registration with CMRITO.
• Current CPR registration.

JOB SUMMARY

The Radiation Therapist assumes responsibility for administering radiation treatment in accordance with Radiation Oncologist, prescription, departmental policy and procedures/standards of care. Calculate basic prescription calculations and check calculations done by others, including preparation of and documentation in the treatment record. Maintain treatment record throughout a course of radiation therapy. Respond to patient condition and patient care needs including comprehensive patient education. Maintain goals, policies and standards of performance according to policy.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of Radiation Therapy
• Ability to communicate clearly and respond to needs of others
• Ability to function as a team member
• Ability to communicate in the French Language would be an asset

EDUCATION

• Graduate from an approved School of Radiation Therapy
• Registration with the CMRITO
• Current CPR registration required
